DIY Outdoor Decor: Dock Pilings

I’ve got a fun & frugal idea for a nautical themed party! I found the idea here & put a May Arts spin on it!

Would you believe I got the supplies for this at the dollar store? That’s right! A pool noodle & wood grain contact paper for $1 each! I guessed on the length to cut the noodle- I knew I wanted 3 different heights. A steak knife cut right through it!

Wrapped the noodle in contact paper! I cut some circles for the tops since they would be visible. I ended up hot gluing the tops in place as they weren’t quite sticking.

I used 1/8” cord/burlap in ivory to tie around the piling & added a knot for detail. I also tied on a die cut anchor with some grape burlap string to make it match our theme/colors.

This was such a fun detail at our party!! And I love that it didn’t break the bank or take long to create!

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you’ve been inspired!
