Weekend Giveaway – Crafty Cringes!

You know it's Friday when……you see our Weekend Giveaway, of course!  🙂

Well, this weekend I wanted to do something fun.  And one of our fabulous Facebook fans came up with the idea for this one!

This weekend we are all about Crafty Cringes!  That's right, we want to see the least favorite project of yours!  A real "oopsie"!

There are 2 ways to post your pictures: email it to me at [email protected] or post it on our Facebook Page!  Better yet, do both!

Did you destroy the evidence already & not have a picture?  😉  That's ok too!   Tell us all about it with a comment.

The prize?

3 spools of May Arts Ribbon – Your Choice!

Winner will be posted Monday, August 22nd.

Good luck!

I've got quite a few "Crafty Cringes" in my past…this is one of them. I do like the Cricut cuts, but the layout of each of the cards…the weird ribbon treatment on the flower stem…nothing seems to flow.

f lynn rush:

wouldn't you know that while i was waiting to get my internet, i went through my pictures and deleted the "uglies".  those are the ones that are so plain that they were painful to look at.  i had one paper on the top and one on the bottom and a ribbon to cover when they meet.  b-o-r-i-n-g…

Bhavana:

I did a layout for my mum's birthday, just as i finished I thought I would destress ink the edges of my 12x12. Just as i finished that, noticed I had ink all up my arm, which had then transferred to the picture of my mum!!! Hopefully you will see the ink all over the photo!!! I now need to get a new photo, and replace over the damaged one!! What a disaster!! I had done the layout to celebrate my mum on her birthday, now that she is was no longer with me any more!! Was so upset at time!! Next time, I will do the destress ink before i put the photo on!!! Never mind!!

Winner!

We have a winner!  Congratulations to:

I destroyed my worst ever project! I tried to make a board book and tried to glue in paper and glued it too close to the edge. The pages got wrinkled up, the pages stuck together and the embellishments could not hide the mistakes that I made. My daughter even said that she did not want it because it was too sticky and the pages were stuck together! What a mess!

Here is the link to my cringe that I posted. Most of them don’t end up anywhere than the garbage bin or torn apart to start anew. http://cardsandcoffee.blogspot.com/2011/08/may-arts-cringe.html

Least favorite project I’ve ever made would have to be the bermuda shorts I made in home economics in grade school. I still to this day cannot sew a button on a shirt, so that tells you my sewing capabilities and what a disaster this project must have been. The shorts ended up being about three times too big in the waist so they were never wore and retired to the circular file (trash can). LOL I’m not sure what was more awful, the print on the shorts that I picked out or the lack of sewing skills I had on the project. Either way, this was definitely the one project that I have done in my life that I can completely cringe over thinking about. LOL

I am mainly a stamper and card-maker. There is a saying in our craft that says “There are no mistakes in stamping.” You can always cover up or embellish mishaps. Well, I hate to admit it, but several times (yes, I haven’t totally learned from my mistakes. LOL) I have made a card front just how I wanted and THEN attached the darn thing UPSIDE DOWN with really stout adhesive. GRRRRRR! I can usually save the front, but the card is now trash. UGH! Thanks for a chance to come clean with my OOPS and also to win a prize. 😀

I made a quilt wall hanging that I never actually displayed. It had starts all over. It was very country looking, and had pastel colors that really didn’t go with the star theme. I offered it to a couple of people so they could maybe use it as a table cover, but no one wanted it. That should tell you something about it–no one wanted a FREE hand made quilt? YUCK.

I’d love to win some of your gorgeous ribbon, but I just can’t do it! LOL 😉
