Hey there May Arts fans! Latrice here with a fun project for Valentine's Day. Here is what we’ll be creating together today.
And here are the steps to take to get this finished product:
Step 1 – Find a small box that can be covered in paper. I found this box at a party store after Christmas sales for .25 cents! SCORE!
Step 2 – Choose your paper and by using Mod Podge you’ll cover the four sides of the box. When I use paper with Mod Podge I always use it to adhere it to the piece and also cover the top to give it a nice gloss.
Step 3 – The next step is to cut some flower foam to the size of your box. This is what will hold your faux flowers stems. We will be covering it up so no worries.
Step 4 – Using a glue gun and some fabulous May Arts ribbon I covered the foam with BW14. This is a loose braided wired ribbon. I just kept bunching it together and gluing it down to get the look I wanted.
Step 5 – Using my silhouette I created tons of flower shapes and using GlueArts adhesive I attached some green pipe cleaners for my stems. The box also got some bits and pieces of AX09, AX14, and AX17. These are super fun heart shaped satin cut outs. I trimmed my box with AX17. I added some gemstones to every other heart to tie it in with the bling used in some of the paper flowers.
Step 6 – I created a fun picket fence and layered it with some letter stickers to finish it off. Here are a few more close ups of this project.
