{tutorial} easy easter décor

Welcome to Day 4 of May Arts / Bella Blvd Blog Week!

{tutorial} easy easter décor

I am beginning to see signs of Spring outside of the Piggy Bank Parties’ office. The change in weather and Bella BLVD’s Family Dynamix collection inspired me to create some easy Easter décor. I gathered a few plastic eggs, added some of my favorite May Arts ribbon scraps and Spring has sprung up on my mantle!

Gather the following supplies:

  • Bella BLVD Family Dynamix Just Write Journaling Stickers
  • Bella BLVD Family Dynamix Quattrofina Spinach & Pickle Juice
  • 6 Plastic Eggs
  • 8 1/2” x 11” Cardstock
  • Scissors and Paper Trimmer
  • Glue Arts Ribbon Adhesive & High Tac Adhesive

Ready? Here we go…

1. Add ribbon adhesive around the bottom edge of the plastic egg top. I found it easiest to open the egg so the adhesive was adhered to the top half only. I wanted to be able to open the egg after attaching the ribbon.

2. Attach ribbon and trim end.

3. Cut 6 strips from the Quadrants paper. Cut two of each size: 3/4” x 4”, 1” x 4” and 1 1/4” x 4”.

4. Create a ring with each strip and seal with adhesive. Place eggs on rings and decide how you would like to display them.

5. Attach 1 Alpha+Bits letters to each egg to spell, “Easter.”

The eggs are adorable at this point but I loved the Bella BLVD Family Dynamix collection so much that I couldn’t help but create a cute little backdrop for the eggs!

6. Take a sheet of 8.5” x 11” cardstock and cut a 2” lengthwise strip. Score each end of the strip at 1” and 2”. Fold ends and set aside.

7. Trim your background papers—Tight Knit and Cute Cuts—to fit the 6.5” x 11” piece of cardstock. I used a decorative edge on the green paper to simulate grass. Attach papers to cardstock.

8. Embellish the backdrop with ribbon, Alpha+Bits, Just Write Journaling Stickers, Quattrofina Spinach & Pickle Juice and Quadrants paper. I created the flower stem with the letter “L” and the leaves are the center from the “e.”

9. Attach the folded strip 1/8” from the bottom of the back. This will allow the backdrop to stand up without falling forward.

10. Place backdrop behinds eggs. Ta-Da!

Piggy Bank Parties wanted to wish you a, “Happy Easter!” so we created little Easter cards for you, our wonderful May Arts blog followers!
