Spring & Summer Mini Album

Day #3 Of May Arts / Graphic 45 Blog Week!

Spring & Summer Mini Album

Latrice here with something to get you in the mood for Spring and Summer. This week as you all know is our blog swap with Graphic 45. They have amazing paper and embellishment collections to choose from. Today I'm using their Once Upon a Springtime collection mixed with their kraft envelope mini album and lots of printed flowers. From my own stash I threw in lots of pearls, inks, ribbon and more.

Here is the front of the finished album:

I won't detail every single part if this album otherwise you'll be reading forever. I will point out any tips and tricks I used though.  For the cover I started out by choosing my paper from the G45 paper stack. I cut the cover piece to fit the front, but before adhering it I inked the edges with walnut stain distress ink by Ranger, then roughed up the edges with a paper distresser. By adding a bit of stitching I make the page look more finished. I did these steps on all of the pages. The title for this mini album was created with G45 punch out letters and my Dymo label maker. These were used throughout also, along with the G45 kraft flowers and the butterflies punched with my Martha Stewart craft punch. I layered a few flowers and finished it off with sprinkles of pearls. On to page one.

This envelope page is all about play time so I cleverly chose a clock printed flower added a torn edge to the distressed paper and pearls to finish. the "Once Upon a Springtime" was cut from a piece of paper fro the stack. What I loved most about this album was how I could store more photos inside the envelope pockets. Here is a picture of page three.

For this next page I made use of the paper packs punch out embellishments. The framed piece comes I two pieces. I inked the edges of all the sides and gave the center some 3D dots to raise. It. I set it a bit off for fun. Here is where I made use of my butterfly punch. Using the coordinating sides of the G45 papers I made a trail of butterflies across the page and it trails onto the adjacent page which holds a cropped 4×6 photo. Each two page spread was set up the same way.

The last thing I want to share with you are just a few more photos of this mini album.

  • Ink- Distress inks by Ranger
  • Adhesive: Gluedots, Tombow and EK Success
  • Punch: Martha Stewart butterfly punch
