Scrapbooking Hearts: Not Just For Valentine’s Day
Hello ribbon fans! It’s Karen H., and today I am going back to the papercraft that really hooked my heart as a mom – scrapbooking! Now don’t get me wrong – I love all things paper, fabric and ribbon but when I really need a pic-me-up, scrapbooking pictures of my little family always makes me smile!
This was a simple little layout that I created of my oldest daughter when she was a wee one snuggling with the first stuffie I ever purchased for her. It’s very basic in terms of shapes, and I think the ribbon additions really steal the product show on this one. I have a lot of favorite ribbons at The Ribbon Resource, but my all time winner has always been the Twill Chevron Stripes collection! This ¾” Twill/Chevron in pink (382-34-17) was a perfect pink to bring the dark and light in the paper together.
And by looping it back on itself and then attaching it to the paper with an adhesive dot, this easy technique adds a pop of texture to the layout (or any paper craft for that matter).
I also decided to add another layer to the layout with different fun ribbon – the ¾” Pink Satin Hearts (AX-17). Now, you might think that this ribbon is only good for Valentine’s Day, but the simple, satiny design has actually made it’s way onto a number of my projects. Use one or use a whole row of them. And given the great size, they work on everything from tags to cards to home décor!
So there you have it – whether you scrapbook or not, these two ribbons as great ones for your collection…ummmm…I mean supplies! Thanks for stopping by!
