Paint Your Cards

Day 1 – May Arts / Creative Imaginations Blog Week!

Jen here and what fun it is to participate in our swap weeks!! This week is full of playing with Luminarte twinkling H2O’s and beautiful papers by Creative Imaginations!

Here’s what I’ve done:

Isn’t that paper amazing? It’s called Bazaar Noir Chintz foil paper; it reminded me of the very popular zentangles. I chose an area to paint, and using the twinkling H20’s this paper made me feel like an artist! I cut out the section I’d painted & mounted it on a card base.

Then I framed the image with satin string. Simple & elegant- you should see the shimmer in person!

Next up is a simple card- this is not a new idea, but I love the way the shimmer adds so much! I used each of the colors to paint a rainbow on watercolor paper, keeping them just wet enough to bleed into each other a bit. A stamped sentiment from PTI was the perfect addition.

I tied burlap string around the focal panel, and used pop up adhesive to attach the focal panel to the card base. Again, so blown away by the shimmer!

I got a scrapbook page done!!! 🙂 I used the Monarch Define paper, as well as the Monarch die cut frames– so pretty! I painted and splashed the mallard green Twinkling H2O’s all over the page.

I machine stitched around the page, which also helped secure the 5/8” scallop edge satin, and 3/8” chenille center dot ribbons.

I’ve also added a doily; I painted the center with watered-down mallard green & inked the edges. A little acrylic paint to use as journaling areas. A burlap string bow topped with a ric rac flower finish off the details.

Thank you so much to Creative Imaginations for such beautiful products to work with! And thank your time; I hope you’ve been inspired!

Great idea on painting a section of the cool patterned paper. Also I love that you did a scrapbook page. I like to see the chenille center dot ribbon used because I like it but wasn’t sure what I could do with it.
