Operation Write Home – Veteran’s Day Blog Hop
May Arts Ribbon is proud to support our nation’s deployed heroes through Operation Write Home®! This organization has sent over one million cards overseas so our service members can keep in touch with their loved ones while they’re away. And our blog is participating in Veteran's Day 2011 Blog hop this weekend! I hope you enjoy all the projects we’re sharing on our blog – and take some time to check out OWH’s blogs and all the others participating, starting at the top of the hop, http://www.owhstarsandstamps.org. You’ll be inspired!
I created a card that I thought could be used by either male or female members of our Armed Forces. It’s simple with a bit of understated elegance thanks to Graphic 45 Transatlantique papers and May Arts Burlap String (SM10). I made sure to attach everything with strong doubled sided tape so that it would survive lots of handling. Inside is a full sheet of computer paper, folded so that it’s full letter size when unfolded for a long letter home.
I am so very grateful to our men and women in uniform. They leave the comfort of their homes and families and risk all so that we may live in freedom. Thanks Operation Write Home for the opportunity to say thanks!
I made a simple Thank You card for our troops using our Patriotic colors Red, White and Blue. I wish I could say more or put a big 'ole hug in this card because sometimes Thank you just doesn't seem enough for what they do for us
I just want to thank all my Heros for making the many sacrifices so that I can live in America, serve God, play with my seven grandchildren and know I’m safe. May God bless all of you and place angels all around you and your families.
Thank you for making our day to day lives safer. Come home safe
To our Troops…Know that what you are doing is making a difference, that your bravery is not without appreciation and your sacrifice is not unnoticed. You are the pride and strength of America! Thank you!
I saw this quote before: "Whether you like to admit it or not, whether you agree with it or not, your freedom is not free. It never has been, it never will be. Someone gave all for YOU."
I totally agree with this powerful words and by supporting OWH, I want to show our troops how much I appreciated all that they and their family do for us.
What an honor to create Thank You cards for the Operation Write Home Veteran's Day Hop!
I've created 2 cards, both using a wreath set from PTI, but by changing the colors & the ribbons a dramatically different look is achieved.
A thank you doesn't seem nearly enough in exchange for what our troops do for us, but it's a start! I am deeply grateful to those who are willing to make such a huge sacrifice so that I can feel safe & free. And on this Veteran's Day, I would like to sincerely thank those currently serving, as those that have served in the past.
What would we do without the brave men and women in our military that sacrifice SO MUCH to protect us? I am thankful there are those that choose to serve, so I never have to answer that question. This "Thank You" card uses some of the new 406 series burlap ribbon as a binding on one side, along with RG14 in the 3/8"size to create a gold star ribbon of support. When I saw the word "Hero" in Crate Paper's Toy Box line I knew it had to be used on my card as well.
Dedicated, determined, strong. Thank you to the fabulous individuals serving all across the world who continue to make our fabulous country a free and safe place to live in.
I created this card with the polka dotted grosgrain in brown and burlap string in natural. It is a nice, simple thank you card for a soldier to send to whomever they feel deserves a thanks!
I jumped at the chance to create a couple more cards for Operation Write Home! My cards are for our troops to send to their loved ones but I, of course, am so grateful to all of them for their service. I used Pink Paislee's 365 Degree and Hometown Summer collections to craft these cheery thank you cards that I hope bring a smile to both the sender and recipient.
Every day I am thankful to the brave men and women who serve and protect our country. I hope that these cards will show them a little of the appreciation that I feel for what they do every day.
I love having the opportunity to send in my cards to Operation Write Home! In addition to a few of my cards I plan on sending a few dollars to help out with postage.
For my Thank you card I used an Our Craft Lounge stamp along with Copic markers, Pearl and patterned paper to create a card any soldier would love to send home to family. I chose a flowered pattern from Lily Bee designs and also added some faux stitching with a small bow of May Arts white silk ribbon. My Thank You is created with American Crafts Thickers.
I'm so grateful to all of the men and women that service our country, with out them we wouldn't enjoy the freedoms that we do. I appreciate the sacrifices that they make so that we can all enjoy a better life. Thank you!
