More 5 & Dime Layouts!
I was so excited to learn of our October Afternoon swap. I love their papers and embellishments and they did not disappoint. I received the 5 & Dime collection and made 3 layouts with it, with plans to make several more.
My first layout is a pretty simple one where I just layered two ribbons on top of each other and then on top of the black stripped on I adhered the strip of word right on top. A quick way to attach your ribbon is just to staple it on, plus it makes it a little more boyish with the staples.
In this Layout I used some twill and some half circles to create a cute little banner across the top, it is held together by hand sewing some buttons on top.
I have to admit that this is one of my all time favorite layouts. I did a ton of layering with the ribbons to really make an impact on the design. After adhering and placing down all of my papers, buttons and rub-ons I then started playing with my ribbons. I first took my suede leaves and cut them in half and ended up using them as a scallop. Then I used the pleated satin and then put the peach crochet trim on top but I first weaved the 1/8 velvet ribbon thru it, this is one of my favorite things to do and I find myself doing it all the time. Along the side I took the crochet ribbon and just folded it in half and putting a button on the top.
I hope you have enjoyed my layouts and I can’t wait to see what you come up with.
