Mini Photo Album
Mini Photo Album
As a seasoned crafter, I have tried a lot of different adhesive products over the years, and it goes without saying that the products produced by Glue Arts are some of my favorite of all time. So, I was so excited when the design team got the word that May Arts would be hosting a blog week with Glue Arts. And, just in time, as I was planning on creating a project where my Glue Arts adhesives would be used a lot.
My mom has always encouraged me and my brother to follow our passions and do what we love. One of my passions, and something I truly love to do, is to create. So, for my Mom’s birthday, I decided to give a piece of my creativity back to her, and create a mini photo album full of family photos. I hope you enjoy this album project and will make one for someone special in your life.
p.s. Don’t laugh too hard at the picture of me with pigtails!
- Bazzill Basics Paper Board Book—This mini album comes with 10 cardstock pages, 2 cardstock chipboard covers and 2 split rings to hold it all together.
- Assorted Patterned Scrapbook Paper—I used papers from KI Memories, My Mind’s Eye, Bo Bunny Press, Basic Grey and DCWV
- Glue Arts Glue Glider Pro—The best adhesive glue applicator ever!
- Glue Arts Ribbon Adhesive
- Glue Arts Adhesive Squares
- Assorted Embellishments—Whatever strikes your fancy. Some of the products I used were K & Company Adhesive Pearls, DoodleBug Design Mini Jewel Adhesives, Kelly Panacci Flower stickers and View Enterprises Die Cuts.
- Photo Corners
The first thing you want to do is to lay out all of the photos and other elements you’ll be using to create your album. Determine the layout of each page and the page order.
Next, assemble your pages, layering your decorative papers, embellishments and ribbon. Use your Glue Arts products to affix everything to the page.
The Glue Glider Pro worked great to adhere my cardstock pieces to my album page, and the Ribbon Adhesive was perfect to tacking down my ribbon. I used Glue Arts Adhesive squares on the flowers and the circle bubble letters.
To dress up this page, I used paper flowers with brads down one side. Circle bubble letters, in a mix of colors were placed on the right side. My mom has called me Princess all my life, and according to my husband, I really act the part.
Photo corners were used to hold the photo of my brother in place, and Glue Squares worked perfectly to hold the bubble letters and metal circle in place.
Once all your pages are complete, it’s time to work on your cover. Do something dynamic and create dimension and layers with your elements. I printed out the word FAMILY on my computer, colored in the letters, layered additional elements around it.
With your cover complete, assemble your photo album and place everything on the split rings. Add some short lengths of ribbon through the page holes, for added punch, and you’re all done.
A Mini Family Photo Album I know my mom will love and treasure this little keepsake for years to come!
