Kitchen Decor – Altered Basket
When I craft, I tend to always make projects to give away to others and rarely make something for myself. I often hoard paper & ribbons that I want to use for a specific project and never get around to making it. I finally decided to create a home decor project for myself! I can’t take full credit for the idea (got to love Pinterest!), but I have been wanting to create some kitchen decor for quite some time now! I thought that this project was perfect!
You can make this project too! Simply gather up some supplies. I found plastic spoons (instead of wooden spoons) at the dollar store, I wanted the white ones, so to save me time from painting them, I went with the plastic spoons. You will also need some paper, letter stickers, and of course, ribbon!
I am in love with the new string beads! They have a nice subtle sparkle and come in lots of yummy colors! After I punched some pennants out of patterned paper and glued them together, I added some of the string beads to the top.
Next, all you have to do is embellish and glue everything down to the spoon.
I also added some of the string beads to my wooden butterfly embellishments for a little extra dimension. I also tied some coordinating ribbon around the spoon.
This is a quick & easy project and makes a great home decor piece for any kitchen! It would also make a great gift if you are needing a quick housewarming gift!
Thanks for stopping by today!
