Holiday Gift Stash!
Holiday Gift Stash!
Hi everyone and welcome to Jenni Bowlin/May Arts week. I’m so excited to be able to share the fun with you! Christmas is approaching quickly and that means I need to have some small gifts ready to tuck into the mailbox for our mail lady, the UPS/FedEx guys and neighbors who stop by. It’s always nice to have a stash of little gifts ready and so much fun to surprise someone with an unexpected gift….especially if it’s something good to eat.
This project is really easy and fun to put together using unexpected elements from Jenni Bowlin.
I used embossed glassine bags and filled them with yummy cookies. Then I created a simple “belly band” using Bazzill Basics Linen textured Cardstock and Jenni Bowlin Family Tree Papers and embellishments. The gorgeous ribbon is May Arts, of course! The flower is one of my handmade magnolias that I sparkled up with a tiny bit of glitter.
See the dark gold ribbon under my flower. It’s May Art’s silk!
I wrinkled it up to add even more texture. Just cut the desired length of silk ribbon, wet it, crumple it up and let it dry. That’s it!! Gorgeous wrinkled silk with no hand dying. If you’re in a hurry, you can use a hair dryer to speed up the process. Just make sure not to blow out your wrinkles.
While I had the Jenni Bowlin supplies on my work station, I was thinking of a unique way I could send our grandchildren money this Christmas. They like to save up their money so that if they want something that’s not in mommy and daddy’s budget, they can get it themselves. It helps them learn to budget and learn to wait for the things they really want. Here’s a fun way I came up with to send them some cash. I used the same Jenni Bowlin supplies and changed up my May Arts ribbon. This one is for our granddaughter.
It looks like a card until you open it up.
The zipper works forming a little pocket to tuck some “green” into. How fun is that?!
