Halloween Countdown Calendar
Today I’m going to show you how to create a super fun Halloween Countdown Calendar using some fun goodies from May Arts and Tombow!
Supplies:
- May Arts ¾” Twill/Stripes in Orange
- May Arts Grosgrain/Dots in Yellow
- Tombow Fastener Tabs
- Tombow Foam Tabs
- Tombow Stamp Runner, Dot Pattern Adhesive
- Die Cuts With A View Chalkboard Paper
- Gourmet Rubber Stamps Invite to Fright Stamp set
- Tsukineko inks (Tangelo, Tuxedo Black)
- American Crafts Brad
- Pennies
- Martha Stewart Bat Punch
- White Colored Pencil
- SRM Stickers Calendar sticker
To begin, stamp the pumpkin image 31 times on white cardstock in orange ink.
Cut out each pumpkin and set aside.
Cut the numbers from the calendar. Cut these rather closely, as they will be added to the punched bats later on.
Punch 31 bats from the chalkboard cardstock and color their bellies with white colored pencil. Your numbers will go over the white part to make them more visible.
Adhere the numbers to the white bellies of the bats. Adhere the bats with foam tabs to the corner of each pumpkin.
Lay out your pumpkins and measure lengths of each ribbon (equal lengths). Be sure to leave extra at the top for the loop and a bit at the bottom to finish it off. Stitch or glue the two strips of ribbon together.
Cut a dragon tongue at the top of the ribbon, fold over, and insert brad to create a hanging loop.
Adhere hook and loop tabs from Tombow onto the back of each pumpkin and adhere to ribbon. This will allow you to remove the pumpkins once the calendar is finished and put them up each day for your countdown!
Stamp a title panel and layer on chalkboard paper. Adhere to the top of the banner.
Adhere pennies to the backside at the bottom of the banner to weight it as it hangs.
Hang your calendar from the wall, remove the pumpkins and add one each day from bottom to top beginning on the 1st of October!
Here is a photo of the full length hanging. It’s super fun!
