I *might* be a little addicted to May Arts 3/8” metallic velvet ribbon! 😀 I thought it would be fun to try making a headband out of it- here’s what I used:
- 3/8” metallic velvet ribbon
- ½” braided elastic
- Sewing machine or hot glue
I measured roughly the length I’d need for a headband on my daughter. I reduced that amount by a few inches & used a shorter piece of elastic so that it would have to stretch just a bit to fit her. I pinned the pieces together
Then machine stitched them
It was a bit of a messy stitch, so I thought I’d try a glue gun
I used a small piece to cover where the materials met- this is also hot-glued
Here it is-
Super cute, right? But why not give it a little patriotic flair?
I simply attached some 1/8” solid turquoise/white ribbon & some ¼” solid/iridescent ribbon to a muslin circle with hot glue, attached that to a hair clip & hot glued the whole package to a burnt ribbon flower (made with 4” satin).
Add a little bling (bazzill) & slide it on to that fabulous glitter headband!
A fun way to add some sparkle!! Hope you’ve been inspired to make something with your May Arts ribbon!!!
