Fly a Kite – Layout
When this ribbon arrived in my mailbox, I gasped! It is just so beautiful! Normally if I'm doing a layout, I create it first and then select my ribbon and embellishments, but not this time. I started with the Sheer Woven Rosettes (353-15-17) ribbon in pink of course, then started searching for some beautiful papers to accent it. Good thing that the Echo Park Country Drive collection was at the top of the stack, because I thought the beautiful pink flower patterned paper called Clover Meadow matched perfectly! I added a little of the Just Dandy as an accent around my ribbon, which I mounted onto a strip of White Cardstock with my Scor Tape. Finally, I dug through my stash to find some sweet photos! These are my daughter making her first attempt at flying a kite at 3 years old. It never got up higher than a few feet off the ground, but she loved trying to make it work! For the photo on the far right I cropped out the real kite and added one that I pieced from the scraps of my Clover Meadow paper. A few Thickers and Echo Park letter stickers for the title and of course my journaling completed this layout!
I'm so thrilled with how this turned out and I had a LOT of fun putting it together! And I taught myself that sometimes working backwards can have amazing results!
