Fall Themed Gift Wrap
I’ll be honest: sometimes, I buy presents just so I can wrap them. Today I bought a book for my friend really because I wanted to try out this project, a pumpkin bouquet bow. It’s a cute autumn-inspired twist on a traditional bow, and super easy to make.
To start, cut a piece of May Art’s crochet ribbon the length of one wrap around your package. Cut a piece of their wired burlap ribbon the same length, plus about 4 inches to form a small basket. Tape down the middle to keep the two ends in place, then fold the burlap ribbon over itself and tuck the end inward, forming a basket shape. Since the burlap is wired, it holds its shape perfectly.
Then you can stuff your basket with artificial- or real! – leaves and flowers. I also included a paper pumpkin I taped to a toothpick, along with the tiny tip of an artificial stem for the pumpkin stem. I used printed paper from DCWV’s “Bewitched” stack for the pumpkin.
Finally, I added “grass” underneath the basket (a 4 inch strip of Net ribbon glued to the burlap,) and finished it with a stamped gift tag, tied to the basket with some red and white striped baker’s twine.
And my friend added a new cookbook to her collection!
