Egg-stra Special Favors
I love this time of year! Everything’s blooming and the bright colors of spring have replaced the dreariness of winter.
One of the highlights for me is setting the table for Easter dinner. I like to have a small favor by each place setting. I think it makes our guests feel extra special. This one doubles as a place marker as well.
This year, I decided to surprise the ladies at the table with some treats they’ll really love…May Arts Ribbon, of course!
A fun project that you can “scramble up” in no time! No, I didn’t forget the guys…they get chocolate and the kids get jelly beans.
Here’s your supply list:
- Egg cartons – I used clear ones that I had on hand from another project but any will do
- Brightly colored plastic eggs
- May Arts Ribbons:
- MR66 – Plaid Loop Edged Wired
- SK47/SK34 – 1.25” Silk
- NE04 – 5/8” Sheer Organza
- CC01 – Sheer Satin Edged Band
- 346-22 – Fuzzy Wired Pom Poms
- WD46 – 3/8” Grosgrain Bubble Dots
- SM09 – Burlap String
- Kraft cardstock – 8 x 1.5”
- White Craft Ink
- White Embossing Powder
- Heat gun
- Martha Stewart Glitter/glue
- Hole punch
- Candy for remaining eggs
Now it’s time for the fun part. Just cut one yard of ribbon for each egg. I found that winding it around two fingers; fit the eggs just right. Place in eggs. Place eggs in cartons. Fill the rest of the eggs as desired.
Score cardstock at 4”. Stamp egg images in white craft ink. Cover with embossing powder, heat until melted. Add touches of glue, sprinkle glitter, one color at a time. Shake off excess.
Stamp sentiment. Punch hole, thread with SM09 – Burlap String, tie off. Tie MR-66 Plaid Loop Edged Wired Ribbon onto box, slip the burlap onto one end of the ribbon and push it to the center. Finish with a bow.
That’s it! Egg-stra special treats finished in egg-cellent time made egg-cellent thanks to May Arts ribbon…sorry, I couldn’t egg-actly help myself! 🙂
