Christmas Decor – Holiday Birdhouse
This year is flying by and I can't believe we are already making Christmas decor! Unbelievable right? Chrissy here with one of my favorite types of projects to do, a birdhouse. In keeping with the season, this birdhouse is all about Christmas.
For the roof trim, I used a running stitch down the center of some red chevron twill. I bunched the ribbon along the thread to create a nice ruffle that looks like a garland. The Christmas light trim is simply glued down using some Helmar 450 glue.
I wanted to add a little bit more of a wintery look to it. I cut small segments of the pearlized bead trim because I think it looks a lot like shimmery icicles.
I repainted and glittered up a Tim Holtz "Bingo" number and made a road sign using some more Authentique. My snowman needed some snazzin' up so a little bit of glitter dressed him up right.
The steeple has the same types of trim and an added Echo Park sticker to finish it all off. To give it a more finished look, I covered the roof with woodgrain paper from DCWV and added some DecoArt SnowTex.
Thanks for taking a look!
