Big Bold Ribbon & A Teeny Tiny Cottage
A bold ribbon can help make your project unforgettable. When choosing ribbons for my crafts, I often look for textiles that will really have a fun and colorful impact. My favorite color combination at this moment is aqua and red, so when I decided that the main color of the cottage was going to be aqua, it was just a matter of choosing which red ribbon from May Arts. Well, I guess I am a wee bit predictable and I chose from my favorite line that May Arts makes…the Grosgrain Ivory Stripe…Red RG14. I also used the Burlap String SM10.
Once I attached all of the pretty patterned papers to the house, I wrapped the red ribbon around the base and secured it with a fast drying craft glue. I made the bow separately. For the bow, I made two loops…
Crossed the loops…
And pulled one loop through the opening. Of course I had to play round with the bow and pull and tighten it to get it just right!
To cut the ends, I folded the ribbon in half and made a snip at an angle. Sharp scissors are a must have!
To finish of my bow, I added a button tied on with the Burlap String SM10.
I attached my bow to the corner of the house with craft glue.
This sweet little cottage has a little secret. The roof comes off and inside sits a tiny album. I filled the album with photos of my favorite things around the house and the story behind each one.
Choose your ribbon…Boldly!
