Back to School Teacher Gift {winner and a giveaway}
Hey Folks, Virginia here with a cute little teacher gift. I don’t want to send the mommas running, but school time is not that far away! Only a few short weeks and once again you’ll be packing lunches and sending your kiddos off for the bus. So, before the hustle and bustle starts again I thought now would be a good time to share a project that will make your kid the ‘apple of the teacher’s eye’!
As you know, this week May Arts has teamed up with Our Craft Lounge and I get to work with a cute set from OCL called “School Notes” and some ‘Sparkly Fluff’ in Baby Boy Blue.
- May Arts 382-34-27 Yellow Chevron Twill
- May Arts 389-18-34 1/8” Turquoise Velvet
- Our Craft Lounge School Notes Stamp Set
- Our Craft Lounge Sparkly Fluff
For this teacher gift I used an old Chinese take-out box I had laying around, but you can get them at most craft stores. I first covered the box in pattern paper from Echo Park. I stamped a scrap piece of paper with the pencil image six times and cut them out. I used my Tombow glue on the eraser and applied the Baby Boy Blue Sparkly Fluff.
*Note: I found the best way to apply the fluff was by picking up a lump with tweezers and putting it on the glue, rather than trying to sprinkle it. Made it much fuller looking.
I then stamped the ruled lines on a long strip of white scrap and topped it with the abc123 border stamp. Glue all stamped images to the box. Using the 389-18-34 1/8” turquoise velvet I tied a length around the center of the pencil images and secured with a knot.
Flag: To create the flag I used a BBQ bamboo squeer. Using double-sided tape, cover the stick diagonally with tape. Starting at the bottom (also diagonally) twist Yellow Twill ribbon (382-34-27) to the top, glue end.
Stamp ‘School’ on a white piece of paper. The Time is here again is from Echo Park “Happy Summer” in which it actually reads Summertime is here again. Cut out sentiment and pair with ‘school’ stamp. Tape to top of stick.
Group pencils together and tie with Yellow Twill (382-34-27)
Stamp star image on a white scrap and cut around leaving a long tail. Apply Fluff. Tape around stem of apple.
I hope your child will be a teacher’s favorite this coming year!
