Alice In Wonderland Costume

Hi this is Jenifer Cowles from http://scrapbooking-n-more.com/default.aspx.

I thought I would show you how just a little bit of trim can make an ordinary dress an extraordinary dress.  My daughter wants to be Alice in Wonderland for Halloween but she wanted the dress from the new movie that came out this year.  The dress is the one that she wears when she falls down the rabbit hole.  I sewed up just a basic dress pattern and then used DA34, string/loop, to make some faux princess seams and to dress it up a bit.  I used PV34, blue velvet ribbon, for a bow in her hair.  I really felt that it did need a sash and so I used 365-2-34 as a bow around her waist, which is just the perfect touch.  This dress is nice enough that she can wear it for her school Christmas program and maybe to a tea party or two.

I hope you have enjoyed my post I would love to hear what you think and would love to see how you've spiced up some of your wardrobe and or Halloween costumes.

How cute, and what a little cutie will be a perfect Alice… I am working on a Peacock suit for my 5 weeks old DGD, I am sure Mays Arts had some cool ribbon that would have helped but i think it will turn out pretty cute if is doesn’t swallow her… she is not quite 8 lbs… to sewing tiny, kinda hard for me..LOL….TFSGJ
