Easy DIY: Pom Pom Trimmed Throw Pillow

I recently made this quilt for my daughter, the wonderful fabric also had these super cut animal print panels that I definitely wanted to use to make some cute throw pillows.  All it takes to make these pillows spectacular is just a touch of May Arts ribbons.

Easy Pom Pom Trimmed Throw Pillow

This is a 14×14 pillow form, I used the grosgrain dot ribbon to help separate the panel from the fun floral print around the perimeter.  The Pom Pom’s around the edge just had to be done and then to make to step it up a notch I created a 3D flower and hand sewed it to the flower on the print.

Here is a close up of the flower.  I took the faux linen and sewed it down the center and cut 1/4″ slits down to the sewn edge, making sure not to cut it all the way down.  I then messily rolled and fluffed it and sewed it down on top of a pair of overlapping yellow flowers.  Stitch down some leaves and your flower and you are done.

Pillows are such a fun and easy way to help decorate any room.  Adding a few fun ribbons really doesn’t take too much extra time and it definitely makes a difference.
