Ribbon DIY: Wrapping With Silk

Wrapping with Silk

Along with unpredictable weather, springtime brings much anticipated color and life to the outdoors. In preparation for a family gathering, I found these towels at my local discount store (for an unbelievable price) to give to the hostesses. I knew that some May Arts Ribbon would add just the right special touch to dress them up and really look special and personalized.

Wrapping with Silk

It is no secret that I’m fond of the silk ribbon line offered by May Arts. There is such a wide variety of colors and shades available. I picked out six spools, three in each color family that matched the prints in the towels. I wrapped each towel with one shade of the ribbon.

Before tying the knot, I cut a length of the other shade of ribbon, set it on top of the darker, and then tied the two together. I did fishtail the ends of the ribbon for a bit of additional interest.

The end result is a beautiful, subtle, two-toned, full bow. In only just a few minutes, I was able to dress up each of the towels and make them special for each of the three ladies. I am quite fond of achieving a personalized gift with only limited time and supplies!

Check out the whole line of the silk ribbon! You could achieve this look with the shades of red, pink, blush and blue too!
