DIY Vintage Inspired Ornament

Hello Ribbon Fans! DeeDee here today and I’m sharing a vintage inspired ornament!

  1. Cut two one inch circles from the music sheet paper, and one half inch circle from the white cardstock.
  2. Distress the music sheet circles and the wooden spool
  3. Use one music sheet circle as an anchor on the top of the spool.
  4. Thread burlap twine through vintage button and attach to top of spool.
  5. Create bead dangles using beads and findings.
  6. Attach bead dangles to second music sheet circle.
  7. Glue to bottom of spool.
  8. Wrap satin ribbon around spool, layer box pleat on top.
  9. Create flower from box pleat, and attach it to the spool! Done!

To create your flower watch this short video:

Now get to creating ornaments for your tree! I’m a huge fan of vintage and upcycled bits in crafting. Insert ribbon and viola! A beautiful natural vintage inspired tree.

That's such a cute idea! Next year I want to make all new ornaments myself. I think it will make them much more personal then just buying some from the store.

Thanks for the video tutorial, I learn best by watching someone do something so it helped me a lot!  Beautiful ornament, I love the vintage look.
