Valentine’s Card and Candy Bar

Hello, May Arts friends!  This is Jennifer Ingle here with you today ready to share a fun Valentine project that is perfect for friends, neighbors, teachers, co-workers, or just someone you kinda like.  Just sayin’.

To begin, we are going to create the candy bar wrap.  You want to cut a strip of patterned paper, I used BasicGrey here, an appropriate size to wrap around your candy bar.  For a standard Hershey’s bar 5 ½ in. by 6 ½ in. is a pretty good start.  Wrap it around and secure it with a strong adhesive like Scor-Tape.  Next, wrap a length of May Arts burlap ribbon, and then a length of May Arts satin ribbon around the candy bar and secure with strong tape.

Next, die cut the word ‘you’ and the banner and stamp the banner with the sentiment stamp.

Attach the die cut pieces to the front of the ribbon wrapped candy bar and apply a sticker on the other side.

Next, you simply want to use the scraps to create a coordinating card to go with your little gift!  I created the card base from pale pink cardstock, layered the same patterned paper over it and stamped the sentiment.  Next, I adhere a strip of brown cardstock with a ribbon banner hanging from it.  Finally, I affixed the sticker and outlined the card with brown pen.

Thanks for taking the time to visit!  Don’t forget to come back each day for more inspiring May Arts ribbon ideas!

What a great way to use some scraps!  This project would really make the most of some of the really nice bits of ribbon I've been holding on to!  THX, Jingle!
