Tiny Butterfly Topiary

Day 4 – May Arts / Creative Imaginations Blog Week!

Today I am sharing a fun tiny butterfly topiary. Using a clay pot, some fun May Arts ribbon, Creative Imaginations papers, and Luminarte Twinkling H2O’s!  This is a super fast little project and can be modified to suit any color preferences!  I love versatility!

Supplies:

Begin by using the Twinkling H2O’s to paint swaths of color onto the paper.  The embossed areas will resist the paint, while the other areas will accept it giving you a gorgeous pop of color!

Punch butterfly shapes from the painted paper.

With a dab of glue, push the dowl into the Styrofoam ball and attach butterflies using the pins.  You may need to cut the pins down so they can be pushed in all the way.  Cover the entire ball with butterflies.

Wrap the dowel with silk ribbon and copper wire string.  Cut the second ball in half and insert in clay pot.  Stick dowel into the foam.

Dye the white ribbon by painting it with the Twinkling H2O’s.  Allow to dry.

Cut the green ribbon into pieces and glue in the pot to cover the Styrofoam ball.  Wrap the pot with the velvet ribbon to finish it off.

Thank you for joining me for this fun tutorial today!  It has been so much fun playing with these fabulous products from May Arts, Creative Imaginations and Luminarte!  I have to say that Twinkling H2O’s are one of my favorite supplies!  If you haven’t tried them yet, you simply MUST check them out!
