Here’s one way to tea stain your ribbon! I’ve used tea bags too (black tea), but the instant tea is easy, fast & cost effective!
Start with a jar of instant tea and the white ribbon of your choice:

Ribbons used: XV01, FN01, HA01 3/8 & 1 ½ , QH01 ¾, EA01 ½ , DC01 ¾ , HN01 1”, 379-15-01
You can see I got the store brand. I think this jar was under $3. I used a pyrex bowl- mainly because I knew I’d be using several yards of ribbon & wanted to have room. I mixed in the powder to the water (maybe a little more than they called for- I was NOT being precise! If you’ve read any of my other posts you may have noticed a pattern with that!) This powder dissolves so quickly!

Now add your ribbon!

I pushed the ribbon into the tea a bit

I added many of the white ribbons that May Arts sells & let it sit overnight.

The next day I sprinkled some powder onto the ribbon to grungy it up a bit more

I took the ribbons our & put them in a pan to dry.

Being the patient person that I am (ha!) I put them in the oven which was cooling off after baking. I also sprinkled them a bit more with tea while they were still wet.

I rubbed the tea crystals just a bit- and here’s how they look

And here’s a gorgeous pile of tea stained ribbon- just waiting to be added to projects!

Here’s a peek at the before & after side by side:

Hope you’re excited about how easy this is & will give it a try!
