Hi, it's Kendra here with a wonderful idea for a special occasion.  With our oldest daughter heading off to college and getting her very first apartment, I thought it would be kind of special to make her a house warming ribbon to hang.

Housewarming Ribbon

The quote I used is an Irish house toast.  It says…

"May joy and peace surround you, contentment latch your door; And happiness be with you now, and bless you evermore."

Housewarming Ribbon

I can't wait to send it to her.   I think she will love it!   It was very easy to make and took less than an hour to make.

You are going to sew a ruffle using the Ruched Ruffle Pink ribbon. Just create small pleats evenly along one edge and sew it with your machine or by hand.

4

Using the Fabri-Tac adhesive you will glue the ruffled ruche ribbon to the back of a white circle that was cut out using the circle die.  I chose the largest circle.  You will then attach the jumbo leaves going around the circle once in each direction so your leaves come from different directions.  I also chose to fold some of the extra leaves to the outside securing them with the Fabri-Tac just so the circle was not completely symmetrical.

Using the Fabri-Tac, secure a piece of the ruched ribbon to the burlap down the center and cut your ends in a nice V.  Use a piece of ribbon to hold the base ribbon in place in the middle as shown.

5

Fabri-Tac is used to attach the Circle to the ribbon base.

6

Press the circle firmly onto the ribbon base.

This is what the front of your circle will look like.  I used a brown fabric marker to write a message on the circle for our daughter Abby.  2 ribbon rosettes were created for the front of the circle and you can find a tutorial to create those here!

I hope I have inspired you to stop and create your own ribbon for someone.  What kinds of occasions can you think of to create a ribbon?  I can't wait to hear your ideas!
