I got some really cute new outfits for Christmas, but realized I needed some new accessories as well – so May Arts to the rescue!

I wear a ton of browns, so when I started looking through my ribbon collection, I was thrilled with how the colors and textures of the ribbons that I chose, worked together – and would be easy to add to many outfits.

I cut about 2 yards of each of my ribbons.  This will give you enough to leave about 18” for ties on either side.

On my working end, I used little metal clips from Ikea to hold the ribbons together, and to give me a starting point for sewing my pearls.

I used a strong beading thread, and knotted it, and hid the knot between the two layers of ribbon.  Then I just started sewing round fresh water pearls, alternating one on the top, and one underneath.  I added some slack on the ribbon before stitching the pearl to create the ruffles.

This necklace is very quick to make and very comfortable to wear! So go through your closet, and imagine the possibilities.
