Pom Pom Tags

Day 2 of May Arts / Lawn Fawn Blog Week!

Hello, May Arts fans!  The project I am sharing with you today is so super fun!  You can use these great pom poms on tags, as I’ve done here, or on gift packaging, cards, or anything else that needs some fun smiles!  Let’s get started!

Supplies:

We will begin by creating the Pom Poms.  Wrap the twisted rope around a fork keeping your ends taped to prevent it from unraveling.  It is the holidays, afterall…there’s enough unraveling going on as it is!  HA!

Next, use the burlap string, threaded through the tines of the fork (I TOLD you the fork was useful!) and tie tightly.   I used the burlap string here rather than the rope because I can get a tighter knot with it.

Once tied, slip the rope off the fork (Or you can cut with it on if the metal blades against the fork don’t drive you absolutely nutty like they do to me.  Just say’n.) and use a good pair of scissors to cut through the loops on each side.

It should looks something like this.  You will want to cut off the taped ends at this point, as well.

User your fingers to gently fluff up your pom pom until you have a comfortable shape.  You can trim the fibers if some are all wonky on you.

Now it’s time to make the super cute tags!  Stamp your ornament stamps on the pattern papers, cut out and piece together on white cardstock tags.  Stamp the hangers and bows directly on the tags.

Embellish the tags with glitter glue and stamp the sentiment.  Punch a hole in the top of each tag and round the corners if you like.

Finally, tie some more twisted rope through the holes and tie on your adorable pom poms!!!  Now you can sit back and listen as all your friends and family tell you how stinking adorable they are and how stinking adorable YOU are for creating them!  Merry Christmas!!!!  YAY!  For more ideas feel free to check out my blog, Just Jingle!
