Mother’s Day Flower Cards

Hi everyone. Vera here today to share a couple Mother’s Day cards.

If there’s one thing in my life that I am very, very grateful for that would be my mom. I wouldn’t be where I am today without her wisdom & guidance. And, I am blessed that we have such a close relationship. Whenever I can, I do love to show my mom how much I appreciate her. Of course with Mother’s Day just around the corner, I don’t pass the chance to show her how much she means to me.

This week May Arts is teaming up with Authentique to create Mother’s Day projects and I immediately based my project based on what my mom loves. Flowers. She enjoys tending to her garden and with that in mind I created a couple flowery cards using Authentique gorgeous papers.

Here’s the first card.

My supply list for this card:

For the flower, I die cut it using Silhouette and piece the flower and leaves together. Now, this particular shape, come with a hole in the middle. So, after I stacked & glued all the layers together (make sure you keep the hole open), I threaded in one end of the skinny silk ribbon, tied a knot three times to make it thicker (so it wouldn’t slide through the hole) and threaded  that end back into the hole, leaving the bump as the flower center.

Or, if you familiar with French knot, you can do that as well. I didn’t have any needle that would fit the ribbon, so I opted for the technique I mentioned above.

For the card panel, I simply layer 3 rows of lace ribbon, top it off with silk ribbon, then top it off again with the sheer dots ribbon. Tuck the ribbon end behind the panel and adhere panel to the card base.  Then add the flower.

To finish the card, I cut off a strip of patterned paper and stamp it with Happy Mother’s Day sentiment.

I love playing with Authentique paper so much that I decided to make another card and here’s the 2nd card.

The supply list for this card:

To create this fun shape card, I die cut the patterned paper using the Spellbinders die and then repeat the process on white cardstock. Score a line about 1cm from the top of the white cardstock, add glue and adhere to the back of the patterned paper.

Add twill ribbon. Die cut the flower, layer all the pieces together (for extra dimension I used Helmar Liquid Scrap Dots in between each layer, it acts just like pop-dots), add pearl sticker for the flower center, and adhere to card. Stamp sentiment.

There, 2 flowery cards in honor of Mother’s Day. I hope you like them. Thank you so  much for stopping by here at May Arts. I hope you find some inspirations from your visit here and have a wonderful day.

I'm really into flowers, and put them on most of my cards, even if it's only a tiny flower or two. They make me happy. I like the yellow ribbon–how it goes off the edge. It looks great.
