Lawn Fawn Cards

Day 5 of May Arts / Lawn Fawn Blog Week!

I can remember when Kelly Marie Alvarez started Lawn Fawn; she was one of the first blogs I followed! So imagine my excitement at a Lawn Fawn & May Arts pairing!! :)

My first card uses Year One.

I stamped it with versamark ink & heat embossed with white powder onto DCWV Lemon Flower Stack patterned paper. I cut the 1.5” white satin pleat ribbon in half & attached it to the focal panel. I topped it with 3/8” grosgrain.

Next up is Cruising through Life.

I stamped the image onto cardstock, and using an exacto knife, cut the bottom of the tires & pedal so that I could slip the 5/8” organic/cotton stripe ribbon underneath. A little prismacolor pencil on the handle grips & banner cut on the ribbon for some fun detail!

I stamped the large pinwheel from Cruising through Life onto 2 different patterned papers (each) from the DCWV Mi Casa stack.  I then pieced the pinwheels together. I used a toothpick for the ‘handle’ & tied red burlap string around each.  (Helmar Craft Glue to attach the toothpicks)

They are popped up with Helmar zap dots. One center is a brad (JoAnn’s), the other is a rhinestone from Bazzill.

ALL of the Lawn Fawn images are so cute- but doesn’t the Winter Bunny make you say ‘awww’!?! :)   I stamped it on DCWV Christmas Combo paper stack, on white cardstock, and on vellum (with a hand cut slope). I pieced the bunny/sled portion after using some 1/8” silk as his scarf! I cut a pom from the 3/8” pom pom/wired ribbon for his tail. :)

Since I clear embossed to set the ink on the vellum, I also added some glossy accents to the runners on the pattern paper.

I machine stitched the 1/8” curly/sparkling ribbon to the vellum.

Last up- Critters in the Forest! I stamped that fun owl onto the log, colored with prismacolor pencils & fussy-cut them out. The focal panel was embossed with a folder, and three circles were punched & embossed with a wood grain plate for the bottom detail. I wrapped the panel with 2 coordinating colors of burlap string.

For a Christmas feel, I stamped the tree image on more of that DCWV Christmas paper, coloring the trunk with prismacolor pencil. I wrapped ‘garland’ around the tree using silver metallic string.

I popped the tree up with Helmar zapdots. I used the 3/8” solid two-toned ribbon to wrap the focal panel like a present. I tied a Bazzill Button and a tag (handwritten ‘joy’) with the silver metallic string.

I think it’s pretty clear how much I’ve enjoyed combining Lawn Fawn & May Arts!! Thank you to Lawn Fawn for such fun images to play with! And thank you for your time! I hope you’ve been inspired!
