Here’s a fun project that makes a great decor piece & fun gift! I’ll show you how to put together this ‘home’ wall hanging!

First you’ll need some supplies. I purchased these plaques at my local Ben Franklins, but you could also use chipboard. You’ll also need some acrylic paint (I used black), mod podge, scrapbook paper (I used an older stack from My Mind’s Eye), and ribbon!

Start by measuring your plaques so that you can cut your paper slightly smaller.

I painted the edges only, since I knew the rest would be covered with paper. I also chose to distress lightly.

Apply your mod podge!

I recently purchased this brayer, so I thought I’d give it a try! It was great, but I’ve done LOTS of this type of projects without, just smooth the paper down & wipe the excess adhesive!

My plaques came with holes, so I used a pin, then my exacto to cut the paper. If you are using chipboard, a crop-a-dile would be very handy for this!

I then pushed a paintbrush handle through the hole to get a clean edge.

I used 1.5” silky crush ribbon for this project. If you are wondering how to get a large ribbon through a small hole, I made my own threader with sewing thread. By looping the thread around the ribbon, then putting the ends of the thread through the hole, I could easily pull the wide ribbon through!

I tied knots at even intervals to try to keep my plaques even.

Here’s a pic of the back. I used some craft glue once I got the plaques even to hold them there!

I used different Cricut cartridges to cut vinyl letters, but you could easily use paper or chipboard!

And that’s the final product! A fun gift that could be customized for the recipient!
