Welcome back to the May Arts blog! We’re so excited to be partnering with the Design Team from Tombow to bring you a whole week of fun and creative projects made with Tombow products and May Arts Ribbon.
It’s almost officially fall and that means it’s time to be thinking about Halloween costumes and those all-important treats. I always try to have a couple of extra special treats on hand for the kids next door and a fun surprise for my sugar loving husband, too.
I don’t know anyone who doesn’t love chocolate! May Arts Ribbon and Tombow Adhesives make it fun and easy to take a humble bar of chocolate from this…
to this…
in just a matter of minutes!
The candy bar slider concept has been around for a while and I would normally use strong double sided tape for the construction but Tombow Power Bond made it quick and easy to make the slider and attach the cute satin cut out ghosts and bats from May Arts Ribbon in no time at all.
Supply List:
- Candy bar of choice
- Designer paper (Company Glitter Paper Pack)
- May Arts Satin Cut outs Ghosts (EX01), Bats (EX10)
- May Arts Black Metallic Velvet – (377-38-10)
- Tombow Power Bond Adhesive runner
- Slit punch (Stampin’ Up)
- Scor-Pal
- Paper Crimper (optional)
Instructions:
- Measure paper to fit around candy bar adding ¼” on each side and 1 inch to the length. Place paper on Scor-Pal and score
- Apply the Tombow Power Bond down one side and across the bottom of the paper. Fold in the side without adhesive first. Then fold in the adhesive backed side and press firmly to make a tight seal.
- If desired, use the paper crimper to crimp the bottom edge of the slider pocket. Use the slit punch to make a hole at the top of the slider.
- Wrap the candy bar in matching paper. Wrap a length of ribbon around the candy bar; adding 4-5 inches to your measurement. Decorate the candy wrapper with a few of the satin ghosts and bats.
- Insert the candy bar into the slider, and then slip the ribbon through the slits. Tie the ribbon ends into a loose knot. Use the Tombow Power Bond Runner to add more May Arts Ghosts and Bats to the wrapper.
That’s it! A quick, fun and economical treat that is sure to make any big or little goblin feel special!
