Gift Card Holders

The gift season is upon us! There are some people on our lists for whom gift buying is easy and then there’s everyone else! Thank goodness for gift cards! They’re lifesavers when we can’t find the perfect gift but giving them can be boring.
Well, no longer! May Arts and Glue Arts can make your gift cards the hit gift of the season because you can personalize your gift card holder to your recipient. Your only limitation is your imagination!
I’m going to show you 3 different styles of gift card holders so settle in with a cup of your favorite beverage and let’s get started.
You’ll need a few basic supplies:
- Cardstock
- Paper Cutter
- Scoring Tool
- Designer Paper/embellishments of your choice
Ok, here we go!

This design is the simplest. It’s basically a 5.5” x 4.25” card with a gift card pocket. Here’s the template and the measurements:

Simply crease firmly on the score lines. Run a strip of Glue Arts Perma Tac adhesive along the short ends of the pocket, press firmly and decorate as desired.
Supplies:
- Paper – Neenah Classic white cardstock, SEI Winter Song DP, SU Riding Hood Red
- Ink – SU Riding Hood Red
- Stamps – Papertrey Ink – Vintage Ornaments
- Spellbinders Oval dies

This gift card holder is ½ sheet of cardstock.
Double Fold Gift Card holder template and measurements:

Fold and press firmly on score lines. Run a strip of Glue Arts PermaTac or High Tac adhesive along the short ends of the pocket. Fold up and press firmly to adhere.
Supplies:
- Paper – Neenah Classic, SEI Winter Song Snow Globe
- Ink – Versamagic Sea Breeze, Versamark
- SU Heat and Bond, Dazzling Diamonds
- Self adhesive Velcro dots
I had so much fun with this option that I made a few samples!

Here is the photo tutorial:

Press the adhered ends together firmly. Flip to the front side.

Run through your cutting/embossing machine according to manufacturer’s instructions.

Supplies:
- Paper – SU Garden Green, Martha Stewart Gingerbread
- Stamps – Hero Arts Wishes Come True, Papertrey Ink Simple Little Things

Each of these designs is super simple. Now all you need are some inventive gift card ideas…one of my favorites is a gift card to a specialty ice cream shop. It’s somewhere I feel is a real splurge when I have to pay, but when it’s a gift, it’s pure fun! How about book stores, antique shops, online shops (May Arts Ribbon!!, stamps, paper, etc.), candy stores, bakeries. You can shop online and have your cards delivered to you while you craft up these easy holders.
