Getting creative with burlap

I love owls, they are timeless and this wonderful little stamp from the Sweet Stamp Shop inspired me to get creative.  I created a card using May Arts burlap to make the trunk and sprigs of leaves for the owl to set upon.  I was not quite sure how I was going to do this without making a big mess of the whole card.

To create the shape that I wanted I cut out the trunk from Scrapbook Adhesives Adhesive Sheets and applied to the card.  I then placed down rows of the twine to create the look of a tree.

I then stamped the owl and colored it in with Kurecolor alcohol ink pens, cut out and gave it dimension with Scrapbook Adhesives 3D foam dots to make it appear like it was perched on the branch.  Stamp the saying in the corner, attach the piece to the card.

It kicked out my comment, so I'll leave another: I like that the tree is so rustic.

The little, sparse leaves look very cute. I never would have thought to do this.
