Floral Holiday Placecard Tutorial

Day 2 – May Arts /  Core'dinations / Petaloo Blog Week!

Hello, May Arts fans!  I cannot tell you how much fun I had playing with the Core’dinations carsdstock, Petaloo flowers, and May Arts goodies!!!  Today I am going to show you how to create this very pretty floral holiday placecard.  These make a gorgeous addition to a place setting, as well as a little something for your guests to take home!  YAY for two in one!!!!  I chose to go with non-traditional colors using the white wash Core’dinations cardstock.  It is just too gorgeous!  I love it!  Here we go….

Supplies:

Use your Cricut to cut three different types of flowers from three colors of the White Wash Core’dinations cardstock.  Create enough flowers to have three for each place card you wish to make. (I cut the flowers at 5 inches).

Sand the edges of the white washed side to let the back color show through a bit.  Keep in mind that the backside will be visible, so you will be showcasing both the solid color and the white washed color.  (I LOVE Core’dinations for 3-D projects!!!!)

Roll the flowers and use the liquid adhesive to be sure they stay in place.

Bend and turn the wired bead string to create a cluster of pearls.  Adhere in the center of each flower.

Cut a length of the copper wire string for each flower.  Coil one end and use a glue dot to adhere to the back of each flower.

Use glue dots to adhere the suede leaves to the back of each flower.

Twist the stems together and use a small bit of the wire string to wrap them.

Write the name on the paper flag and attach to the Petaloo paper flower with a brad.  Use a glue dot to adhere the flower to the stems over the wrapped portion.

And that, my friends, is an adorable little place setting for your holiday meals!  I created mine with Christmas in mind, however, you could easily tweak the colors for Thanksgiving, New Year’s, or even Halloween!
