My name is Do Driver—pronounced with a long “o”—and I’m married to an amazing artist, my business partner and my best friend, J. We live 10 miles north of Chicago in Illinois and I am a Michigan native which requires me to live within 15 minutes of a body of water. {wink!}
I have a Music and Theatre Degree and worked as a Summer Music Camp Administrator, a Private Music and Theatre teacher and an Assistant Music & Bowling Professor at a college in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, Canada.
After “retiring” from teaching at the age of 32, I worked full-time as a Corporate Event Planner and part-time as a Hand Calligrapher. In 2000, I officially opened “Autumn Writings: Calligraphy for All Seasons” and less than six months later changed it to “Autumn Writings: Digital Calligraphy & Stationery for All Seasons.” Hand Calligraphy was replaced with Digital Calligraphy—computerized envelope addressing—and I started designing and handcrafting custom invitations and stationery items. After we were married, J officially joined the company as our Head Artist and Webmaster.
I truly have a passion for planning budget-friendly, themed parties. In July of 2010, we launched a new online division, Piggy Bank Parties, and Oink!, the blog of Piggy Bank Parties. Our shop, The Market, offers budget-friendly, printable invitations and party décor you create at home with your own supplies. Oink! features real parties, tutorials, recipes and ideas to inspire memorable and affordable events.
I love playing with paper and May Arts ribbon when creating partyware, cards and invitations. I am thrilled to be a member of the May Arts Design Team and look forward to sharing lots of fun tutorials and {free downloads} with you!
