Core’dinations / Petaloo – cards, cards, cards!

 Day 1 – May Arts /  Core'dinations / Petaloo Blog Week!

Jen here with a fun swap with Core’dinations and Petaloo Flowers!! I’ve got a few cards to share with you today- first up:

I’ve created a Halloween-themed card using Core’dinations Black Magic collection. I embossed the cardstock with a wood grain plate (Papertrey Ink), and then used the Core’dinations Sand It gadget to reveal the orange. I had so much fun sanding to see the texture!

I’ve used May Arts 5/8” sheer ruffle edge ribbon & combined it with 1/8” solid/stitched center for a fun Halloween look!

Next up is another Halloween card. This time I debossed the Black Magic paper using a text plate (PTI). When I sanded the paper the text remains black.

I used 2 of Petaloo’s Color Me Crazy in Nightfall, adding some lime stickles to the top flower. I tied 5/8” textured lines with some 1/8” velvet in a simple knot.

This one is a fall-looking card using the Core’dinations White Wash line. I embossed with a damask plate (PTI) and sanded to reveal the core color.

The flower is from Petaloo’s Color Me Crazy in Snowflake white. I used a combination of chalk and ink to alter the color. The brad is from Joann’s and bittersweet burlap string is tied in a bow around the brad.

Now for a couple of holiday cards! On this card I used the Core’dinations Core Essentials paper and debossed it with a cuttlebug folder. When I sanded the paper the great canvas texture and lighter color are revealed.

I used ¼” solid/iridescent ribbon for the accent, layered with silver metallic string (possibly my new favorite!). I used an embroidery needle to pull them through the Petaloo Mantis Green flowers.

I created my own banner, stamped ‘JOY’ using inkadinkadoo stamps, and applied stickles to the edge.

Using the same paper and embossing folder I embossed, giving a raised image.  By reversing the paper in the folder you get a completely different look! I used the sheer box pleat and topped it with the silver metallic string. I also used hot glue to create the center of the Petaloo flower with the silver metallic string.  I again created a banner with a stamped sentiment (PTI) and added stickles.

You may have noticed that all of these cards use the same layout, but by changing the colors & elements they each have a very different look!

Thank you to Core’dinations and Petaloo for providing me with such fun products to work with!!! Thank you for your time, I hope you’ve been inspired!
