Hi! My name is Charlene Driggs aka Cookiebaker. My husband and I live in the Tropical South with our dog, Bentley. We have two grown sons, one lovely daughter-in-law and 2 adorable grandchildren.
I have always enjoyed a wide variety of crafts such as sewing, embroidery, counted cross-stitch and making paper flowers but stamping, paper crafting, cooking and baking are my passions. I mill my own wheat and make my own bread and flour mixtures. Many years ago, one of our friends referred to me as the “cookiebaker” because of the quantity of cookies I bake as gifts for our friends and neighbors. The name stuck and is my avatar on my blog and stamping network sites.
I’m a self-taught paper artist, learning primarily online through other wonderful bloggers and stamping networking sites.
My favorite paper art projects are gift sets. I love to take ordinary everyday items and turn them into something beautiful using papers, ink, lush ribbons and other embellishments. My style would probably be considered eclectic as I enjoy a variety of styles. My current favorites are Clean and Simple (CAS) and romantic vintage.
I have had projects published in Scrapbook News and Review online magazine. I currently design for May Arts Ribbon, and Rubbernecker Stamps and have also designed for The Cutting Café, Scor-Pal, Posh Designs Scrapbook Store, and the Paper Cubed Challenge blog.
I was honored to be on the Fall, 2010 SplitcoastStampers Clean and Simple Design Team and have held the Guest Designer spot several times. In addition, I have been Guest Designer on Sharon Johnson’s Stamp Simply Challenge Blog and Hand Stamped Sentiments Challenge blog. I have been the Featured Stamper on SplitcoastStampers and my projects have been featured on Print Radar and Divine Design.
I am humbled and honored to be a part of the amazing May Arts Design Team once again and look forward to an inspiring creative season of crafts featuring May Arts Ribbon.
