Canvas – Past Love

Day 5 – May Arts / Creative Imaginations Blog Week!

I had this canvas laying around and a stack of fun shapes and frames from Creative Imaginations.  I decided to use a color that I normally dont use, as I am really challenging myself these days to do new colors and techniques.
I covered the canvas in purple, added a CI frame and old photo, it is attached to the canvas with cream May Arts Ribbon to give it the tied on effect.  Then I ran a piece of purple ribbon across the tape to create a banner of which I placed hand painted laser cut alphas on to say “Past Love.”  I added a few more elements to complete the look.

Purple is not an easy color, especially if it is outside one’s usual palette, and it works just fine here. Something about the touch of luxurious ribbon makes it personal, like binding a collection of old love letters.
