So, today just happens to be this Ribbon Lady's birthday.
And, on a side, I just learned I share my Birthday with Google! Which is pretty darn cool….cause my life has definitely changed for the better since meeting my very favorite search engine! And it gives me an even better reason to have a giveaway, or two, or three!

My favorite birthday present is actually an apron from my husband. We had just been married a month before my birthday and he asked me what I wanted and I told him I wanted an apron. He kinda freaked out wondering if I was serious or not…and wondering what people would think of him when I told people he got me an apron for my first present as his wife.
But…he went to a store and got me an apron…and he also got me a beautiful framed picture to hang on the wall. I still love the apron and the picture 9 years later (although I never wear an apron anymore).
It is a special memory for me.

My best birthday present ever was on my 16th birthday. When I woke up that morning my room was all decorated with streamers and balloons from the ceiling!!! I had slept through my sister decorating it for me, and it was a wonderful feeling and so much fun, because our family never did anything big for our birthdays! I’m 52 now, and I still remember how wonderful it was!!
Happy birthday! My best one – I’m the birthday person at work, and my team wanted to do something special for me one year (they normally forget!). All morning they ‘forgot’ it was my day, and I was sad not to even get a little wish or anything. No one would go out to lunch with me except a gal from another dept who said she could pick up lunch and eat at her desk…so we at least did that. Meanwhile the entire conference room was transformed into a high school PROM! Everyone dressed in outfits dated to the year they went to their prom (some guys had to wear wigs to go with tuxes! lol!) … they had made a crazy prom dress for me to put over my outfit when I got there, and they elected me queen. It was HYSTERICAL and such a total surprise!
Let’s see — there was a waffle iron one year
but probably the best was a surprise trip for my 50th back to see some old friends.

Happy Birthday to you, me and Google! Four years ago exactly my brother sent me air tickets for me to fly to Perth, Western Australia to stay with him and his family for 12 days. This came at quite a cost to him but he just wanted to bless me with some time away to refresh me. I have had some amazing gifts over the years but this one really blew me away and I shall never forget his kindness and thoughtfulness.

I had searched and searched for a specific Jim Shore Santa I wanted for my collection and had given up finding it anywhere. When my birthday rolled around I was thrilled to receive it as my gift. The best birthday present I ever got was for my 40th birthday. My husband surprised with a weekend getaway just for the two of us. I was totally surprised, and that’s not easy to do!

I’ve never actually gotten a b-day present. My family doesn’t celebrate them. But I got an awesome gift one time. My mom gave me a note directing me to a camping stove. The stove held a note leading me to camp dishes and so on. I got a total of 5 camping items. It was awesome!
When my hubby and I were dating over 33 years ago he gave me a very special music boxon my birthday that I have to this day.
