All About Boys layout and card

Day 3 of May Arts / DCWV Blog Week

All About Boys layout and card

I hope you all are enjoying this week of pairing May Arts with Die Cuts With a View! I know having two little boys I was excited to get to play with the All About Boys stack. So many patterns and designs to choose from with a common theme…and adding May Arts ribbon to the mix made it extra fun!

I created a layout and card to share today. Is it strange to scrap a picture of feet? When it is feet of little ones I don't think so!

You can see that I used several different patterns from the stack, but using a solid neutral background with the pattered paper in smaller doses works.

The minute I saw the paper with the little cars on them I immediately thought of using the organic stripe series ribbon as a road! The cars are popped up with dimensional adhesive while cruising down 385-58-44. You can see I added the journaling using a standard shipping tag from an office supply store, but used the natural colored SM10 string instead of what it came with.

I made a little accent in the corner of the layout by using the negative space from a punched star and tying SM03 around it. Using staples keeps it in it's place…plus I just can't get enough of those mini staples from my tiny attacher!

The stars were punched out and then, using a tiny hole pinch, I made them almost button-like to tie on SM03.

And finally a card. I couldn't resist the mustache craze and I had the shape on my Silhouette machine just waiting to be used.

Once I created the card base from the plaid patterned paper I cut a label from the orange star paper with my die cut machine. The mustache got a little sewing around it and then I used dimensional adhesive to make it pop off the card.

The sentiment is obviously for a new baby boy momma, but by keeping the design and changing the wording you could use it for a variety of occasions. The SM03 here has been wrapped around the label and stapled to the sentiment tag. I think it helps draw the eye to words while adding some interest and pulling in the navy color too.

Looking through these projects I can see I am really liking using staples with the SM series! I suppose I like the rustic, natural look the string gives combined with the more industrial feel of the staple ;)

I hope you enjoyed these projects today. Thanks to DCWV for letting me create with the All About Boys stack and thanks to May Arts for making ribbon for any project or occasion! Let me know if you have any questions!

I just love this layout! I have some pictures of my kids little feet and should do something like this too. Now my son is 18 and wears a size 13. maybe I should do a comparison layout, that could be really kind of funny.
    Very cute card too.
These papers and ribbons work so well together. Great choices!
