Day 3 of May Arts / Echo Park Paper Blog Week!
Welcome to May Arts/Echo Park Blog Week! I love to wrap and give presents and this week I got to get a head start on some of my Christmas wrapping items. I think presentation is half the fun of giving a gift.
I loved making these easy boxes! They’re just right for lightweight gifts or a wrapped stack of homemade cookies.
Echo Park’s Season’s Greetings by Lori Whitlock papers and die cuts paired with luscious May Arts ribbons make for a Wow presentation that anyone on your gift list will appreciate.
Here’s how to make these easy boxes:
Tall box
1. Choose your favorite Echo Park Season’s Greetings paper. Using your Scor-pal, score at 2 3/4", 5 ½”, 8 ¼” and 11”. There will be a small strip left that you will use to secure your box.
2. Turn your paper and score at 2 3/4”. Fold the paper on the score lines. Use scissors to cut up to the line on the 2 3/4” side. This will form your box base. To form the box, run a strip of strong double sided tape down the leftover strip. Secure. Tape the box bottom. Pinch the sides in to close.
Short Box
1. Base: Cut paper 12” x 10 ¾””. Score and assemble as in the first box.
2. Box Top: Decide how long you want your box top to be. Score at 2 7/8” intervals. Secure as for box base.
Note: here’s a tip if you don’t want to disturb your beautiful bow. Cut the ribbons at the base and tape them together with invisible Scotch tape. 
No present is complete without a beautiful tag to compliment it. I think these sturdy tags would also make cute tree decorations after the gift is opened.
I loved that I could create a vintage look, cute tags for kids and a feminine tag all from the same Echo Park paper collection. I added manila tag bases for strength and fun accents like jingle bells, snowflakes, stars, buttons and clips plus some machine stitching. The stick on alphas made personalization a cinch!
