A Fabulous Frame & Charming Cards

Day #2 of May Arts / Graphic 45 Blog Week!

A Fabulous Frame & Charming Cards

I am loving this swap with Graphic 45!  Their products are gorgeous, and May Arts ribbon is a perfect compliment!

I’ve made a quick frame using their Once Upon a Springtime line- easy to make it look great with little work, since there is such detail in the paper! Here’s what we’ll end up with:

Starting with a frame from Michaels or Joanns- I stained it & let it dry overnight.

Get out the mod podge & pour it on!

I use a foam brush to get a smooth layer.

Attach your paper, smooth out any air bubbles & let it dry (with a paper that has a clear top/bottom, make sure you’ve got the dowel hole in the right spot!) Next grab your exacto knife & trim the excess.

You’ll end up with this:

Now grab a sanding block or paper & smooth the edges!

Here’s the hardest part – which gorgeous May Arts ribbon will you embellish it with?

I went with the 5/8” faux suede with ruffle edge, the 7/8” crochet, & the 1.5” silky crush.

I cut a few pieces of the ruffle, a piece of crochet & border punched some of the Graphic 45 & layered them with hot glue.

I tied a pretty bow & hot glued it on.  I added die cut & punched butterflies as well.

And here’s the final product again!

I also made some quick cards:

More of that pretty paper border punched & layered with ivory satin pleats, crochet & velvet ric rac.  The big bow is the ½”solid/wrinkled ribbon that’s been tea stained!

And one last card – this one couldn’t have been easier – the focal image is a die cut image! More patterned paper, same crochet & ½” wrinkled ribbon!

Thank you so much to Graphic 45 for the great swap!!!  I’m in love with this paper! And thank you for stopping by – hope you’ve been inspired!
